The Grapevine | |
Purpose.
The Leicestershire Grapevine is intended for the use and convenience of older and disabled adults, their family, friends, carers and other people involved with supporting them. It is not for the use of anyone under the age of 18 unless they are working for, or assisting, an older or disabled adult (e.g. a carer or family member).
The Grapevine is intended for people to share information and advice with each other, discuss issues and make friends. It is not intended and should not be used as a help and counselling service. Help and counselling services can be applied for by contacting Leicestershire County Council or visiting www.leics.gov.uk.
Using The Grapevine.
You can read messages posted to The Grapevine without registering your details with us. If you want to post your own messages then you will need to register a name, password and valid email address for verification.
When you submit the registration form, an email will be sent to the address you supplied. You must be able to open and view this email to confirm your registration. Further instructions are provided in the email. Once you have confirmed your registration, you will be able to start adding to The Grapevine.

PLEASE READ THESE GUIDELINES before using The Grapevine.
1. Using correct grammar and spelling will help to make the meaning of your message clear and help people to understand it. But don’t be worried about your spelling skills; as long as other people can read and understand your message clearly then it is good enough for The Grapevine.
2. Avoid writing everything in CAPITALS (using the CAPS LOCK key) as it looks as if you are SHOUTING and other people may think you are angry.
3. Please avoid writing messages like this:- WrItInG lIkE tHiS, which makes them very difficult to read. Other users may not take you seriously if you use these writing styles.
4. If you have trouble using the keyboard it is best to use all lower case.
5. It is not advisable to reveal any personal information about yourself (for example: your telephone number, mobile phone number, your full name, home address or email address) while using The Grapevine.
6. Please be helpful to other users, abuse of other members of the site will not be tolerated and may end up with you being banned depending on the severity of your message.
7. Please do not use swear words. Swearing is unnecessary, and may cause offence to other users. Messages containing swear words will be amended or deleted, and may end up with you being banned depending on the severity of your message.
8. Messages containing racist comments, abusive behaviour, sexually explicit content or promoting illegal activities will also be deleted, and may end up with you being banned depending on the severity of your message.
You should know that we reserve the right to modify or remove any messages that are deemed to be unsuitable for The Grapevine. We also reserve the right to remove any user’s access and/or delete all of their messages. This may be done without consultation or recourse.
