Charnwood Borough Council

Community Transport Blaby District

The  Community Transport project is for people living within the Blaby District who have difficulty using public transport or who have no access to public transport. Transport  users to and from their destinations which can include shopping trips, lunch clubs, visits to friends, health appointments, doctors, dentists etc. but not hospital appointments. Each journey can be a single journey, a wait and return, or a journey where the driver takes the client and returns later to pick them up.  A small chage is based on the distance travelled. Bus passes or concessionary vouchers issued by Leicestershire County Council can be used.

Community Transport Castle Donnington

Dial-a-Ride Shopping Services. Wednesday two buses travel from Castle Donington via Diseworth, Hemington, and Lockington to ASDA and TESCO stores at Long Eaton. Cost £2.00 return. Thursday a single bus serves Castle Donington, Lockington,Hemington and visits local shops, Post office, and the Co-0p Superstore in Donington. Cost £1.00 return. Friday one bus leaves Castle Donington, calling at Tonge and Breedon for Coalville allowing for time to visit District Council Offices and shopping at Morrisons Superstore. Cost £2.00 return.

Community Transport - Voluntary Action Charnwood

There is a charge for these services, concessionary passes and vouchers are accepted. Transport can be provided for shopping, visiting friends & relatives, social activities, health appointments and in some cases for hospital appointments. Please check with the provider for full details.

Community Transport South Leicestershire

Transport Scheme - available to those who are elderly/disabled/rurally isolated. Transport is provided for frail elderly or disabled who cannot use public transport, or where none exist. Visits include health appointments (hospital, doctor, health centre, dentist, podiatry and clinics), visits, hairdressers etc.. Five day notice is required before the journey, also need to know if you need to bring any special equipment with you i.e. folding walking frame or wheelchair.

There is a charge based on the mileage that helps towards the drivers fuel expenses, you will be told the charge when you book your journey. We ask the passenger to put the required amount into an envelope and hand it to the driver at the end of the journey.

Dial A Ride Coalville

Community Transport, Coalville and District provides services to frail older people who have difficulty using public services, or where none exist.Using four accessible minibuses, shopping services are provided throughout the week in the Measham, Moira, Ashby, Ibstock, Whitwick, Donisthorpe, Appleby Magna, Thringstone, Ravenstone, Markfield and Coalville areas.

This is a door-to-door service and half fare bus passes and tokens may be used in payment. Fares are compatible with those charged by public transport providers. People who use a wheelchair are able to use these services.

Hinckley Dial A Ride Community Car Scheme

Transport is provided by volunteer drivers using their own vehicles and is accessible to those who are elderly or disabled. Visits to friends or relatives, events, hospital or doctors appointments and shopping etc. Bookings need to be made with a miniumum of 48 hours notice. A zonal charge is made. Concessionary travel vouchers and bus passes area accepted

Social Community Car Scheme

Oadby & Wigston Community Action run a local social car scheme providing transport for residents of Oadby and Wigston who have difficulty accessing public transport. Trips including doctors, dentists, chiropodists, luncheon clubs, hairdressers, shopping, and to visit their friends.
