Leicestershire County Council provides social care services to adults and children in Leicestershire, who are assessed and in need of support.  Including support for carers who are looking after relatives and friends.  For more information click on the links below:

You can get in touch with Social Care by contacting your local office during normal office hours, or by arranging for someone to do this for you.  When you call reception, staff will put you in touch with the member of staff on duty in the 'Access Team'. Access Teams at our offices are the first point of contact for all enquiries about services and will explain the assessment process in more detail, whether you are eligible for services and what, if anything, you will have to pay.

An interpreter will be arranged to assist people whose first language is not English, or a sign language interpreter for people who are deaf or hard of hearing.

The Emergency Duty Team (E.D.T) provides a response to social work emergencies that occur outside normal office hours, including at weekends and Bank Holidays.

The Blue Badge Scheme provides parking concessions for people with severe walking difficulties, who travel either as drivers or as passengers.
